Red Cross work.

Today we worked on our Red Cross campaign so we out our poster and leaflets on the PC, also we made our radio and TV advert.

Our TV advert has very few lines but what I tried to make it do I pull at peoples heart strings and set atmosphere.

The Open.

Last Tuesday on the 12th of October when went to the ‘Open’ in Norwich for a Creative and Media conference, which was vey eye opening for me seeing how many things go on in Norfolk and what options are available for me and I learnt 2 very important things that I wont forget.

Firstly out of the 5 talkers we had the first was Music which didn’t interest me; however I still found it interesting that so much music goes on in Norwich and that you have to keep trying.

Secondly it was Dance which I had no interest in at all, however I still listened and they did say though “What ever you want to do and try to get it, you HAVE to be able to deal with rejection which was probably one of the most important thing I learnt that day.

Thirdly it was acting which was very cool to watch as all the speakers had a sense of humour and they talked to us as normal human beings which some other the other speakers didn’t do well enough or at all. They talked about their past and how they got into acting, one was from the army and one was from a drama school and both at been very successful and it showed me that you can act from any background, giving the fact you can act.

Then it was Graphic designers which I am very interested in, and from hearing the stories of how they got from where they were to what they are now, some of things they did as a child and helped them with this, is what I used to do and this gave me some confidence that I could do it too.

Lastly it was the animation people and one of the speakers said those two things that will stay with me forever, he said that to be successful in Media of any sort is you need contacts and you need to standout from the group. The animators not only have fun while they work and they work hard.

I had a great day at the Open and i would give the conference a 8/10 beacuse i learnt so much from things i wasnt even interested in.

Tiny giant theatre company review.

On the September the 28th I watched the tiny giants destroy what could have been a decent play. The play was called Perfect and was about a family who were supposed to be the everyones family with teenagers getting into trouble at school.

The message they where trying to get across is wear seat belts at all times, but ive done this all my life and i understand some people still might not see how important this is. The actors coped with very limited props. Each actor played a number of parts, which was very skilled and looked very good.

Overall the play was very good and i liked the way they had to work with little to no probs and actors.

Going into Wymondham

Today we went into Wymondham for our artifcat project, my groups set business was the "Queen Street Dentist" it was a little tricky to find at first but we eventually found it. On arriving we were greeted by the receptionist and one of the the dentists that worked there, after we were greeted we were soon asking questions to some patients and some of the staff, unfortunately they didnt want to be filmed however we did get some pictures to help with our shoe design such as; teeth and some dental equipment. When we talked to the owner to the surgery he seemed a bit unsure of what we were doing and we ended up leaving confused. Thats all for now, See ya!
